Gondar, Emperors and Palaces

Emperor Fasil moved to the hilly city of Gondar back in the 17th century. Emperors need castles, and an imposing structure was built. When a new man became emperor, one might think he would use the castle. However, it seemed that each one wanted a special castle for himself, and would build a new one. As a result, there are many castles. Time has its way of mocking the structures man sets up, and many of them are crumbling.

On line again - - -

Hi, everyone,
After a long absence, I am trying to get back to blogs.
Why was I off so long? It is difficult to say. I think I am interested in too many things and don't keep up well with any of them. But the world keeps moving on and things keep happening. So I will try to write some of the things happening to us here in Colorado and I would welcome comments from any who view these blogs.
We will be going back to Ethiopia next month, only 38 years after we left. We leave Denver on October 25. I hope to keep you all posted on what we see there. Can you imagine the changes we will find after 38 years?
